How to bill tolls and tickets to Turo guests without the paperwork

Updated October 30, 2026, 5 minute read

A toll notice shows up weeks after the trip, with a plate and a time on it. You have to work out which guest had the car, then file it before Turo's window closes. Most of that is lookup work, which software can do.

Turo's windows

Turo lets you invoice tolls and tickets within 90 days of the trip's end, and fuel or EV charging within 72 hours. Rules can change, so check Turo's current policy for your market.

Upload the notice

In Tolls & Tickets, upload a toll notice, a ticket or your tracker's toll report. AI reads the amount, the plate or VIN and the time of each charge, then matches each one to the trip that covers it.

If it can't match, use "Match again" or pick the trip by hand.

Post it to Turo

Check the type (tolls, tickets, fuel or EV) and press "Post to Turo". DriveIt files it with the notice attached and Turo invoices the guest.

If the same amount is already posted on that trip, DriveIt warns you of a possible duplicate and asks before posting again.

Follow it to paid

The row shows where each one stands, read from Turo's emails, which is why email forwarding matters here.

  • Invoiced, with the invoice link and the pay-by date
  • Paid, or "Mark as paid" after 3 days if Turo's email never came
  • Failed, with Turo's reason
  • Canceled, if you canceled the invoice on Turo; it can be posted again

Direct bookings work the same way

If you also take direct bookings, the same notice is matched to the direct trip, and "Charge guest" bills the guest's card.

Questions

Does DriveIt post tolls to Turo automatically?

No. DriveIt matches them and prepares the filing, and you press Post to Turo.

What do I need for this?

The co-host invite to post, and Turo email forwarding to see invoice status.
