Turo pricing automation: rules that re-apply your prices every morning
Turo re-prices your cars every day, so a price you typed once stops meaning what you meant. Price Autopilot keeps a short list of rules you wrote, in your words: a little above Turo's price, a fixed price for an event, a discount inside two days, never below a floor. It re-applies them each morning, shows you every car and day before anything is sent, and stops if a day would move more than you allow. Every rule starts off. Free for the rest of 2026.
Why a Turo price needs re-applying
Not because Turo's pricing is wrong. Because it moves, and a number you type doesn't.
Each day on a Turo calendar is either Turo's dynamic price or a custom price you set. When you set a custom price, that day stays at your number while Turo's dynamic price for it keeps moving underneath. A week later, "ten percent above Turo" might be above, level, or below. The only way to keep a relationship to Turo's price is to re-apply it, and nobody wants to do that by hand across a fleet and a year of dates.
Price Autopilot reads your cars' Turo prices, works out what each rule says each day should be, sends only the days that differ, and writes down what it did. It runs at the time you choose; the default is 06:00 in your fleet's time zone. The dynamic pricing guide goes through what Turo shows for each day and what DriveIt does with it.
What a rule is made of
Which cars, which days, what price. A rule can be as small as "all cars, every day, Turo +10%".
Which cars
- All your Turo cars
- Every car paired with Turo in your account.
- Selected cars
- Pick the cars by name, for a rule that only fits some of them.
- Cars at a location
- Every car attached to one pickup or return spot, so the airport lot can be priced apart from the downtown garage.
Which days
- Every day, up to 365 days ahead
- Turo takes prices up to a year out. Dates further away are priced as they come within range.
- A date range
- A holiday weekend or an event, from one date to another.
- From X to Y days after today
- A window that moves with the calendar: for example 7 to 364 days out, leaving the coming week to you.
- Only some weekdays
- Fridays and Saturdays, say, every week.
- Always include, never touch
- Add a date the filters miss, such as a Monday holiday, or protect a date you priced yourself. Never-touch wins.
What price
- Turo's dynamic price plus or minus
- A percent or a dollar amount on top of Turo's own price for that day, sent in Turo's adjust mode so Turo works it out from its live price.
- A fixed price
- An exact number for the days the rule covers.
- By days until the trip
- Up to six tiers, nearest first: one value inside 2 days, another inside 14, another beyond.
- Back to Turo's dynamic price
- Hand days back to Turo's pricing.
The fine print you can set
Limits and rounding
- A lowest and a highest price
- A discount never goes below your lowest price; a mark-up never goes above your highest. Days that hit a limit go to Turo as fixed prices.
- Rounding
- Nearest $5, nearest $10, or ending in 9. Rounding never takes a price below your lowest price or above your highest.
- Different on chosen weekdays
- One rule, two values: +5% Monday to Thursday and +20% Friday and Saturday, for example.
Your direct price
- Follows the rule's Turo price
- Set the price on your own booking site as this rule's Turo price plus or minus a percent or an amount, or a fixed number.
- Your hand-set direct prices stay
- A direct price you typed yourself is never overwritten.
- Turn the rule off and it lets go
- Direct prices the rule set are cleared, and the car's own direct rule or base price takes over again.
When it runs
- Your times, your zone
- Up to four run times a day, in your fleet's time zone. 06:00 is the default.
- A rule can have its own time
- Run a last-minute rule again in the evening, for example.
- First rule wins
- Rules are checked top to bottom. The first rule that covers a car and a day sets it, so the event rule sits above the weekend rule, which sits above the everyday rule.
Four rules, one fleet
An illustrative set, in the order the rules are checked. No host has run these; the numbers only show how the settings combine.
| Rule | Cars and days | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Race weekend | Mar 13 to 15, all cars | Fixed $149 a day. Sits first so nothing below it touches those dates. |
| 2. Weekends | Fridays and Saturdays, all cars; always include Sep 7 | Turo's dynamic price +20%, never below $55. |
| 3. Airport lot | Cars at the airport location, every day | Turo's dynamic price +15%. |
| 4. Last minute and far out | All cars, every day | By days until the trip: inside 2 days −15%, inside 14 days −5%, beyond +5%. Never below $45. Direct price: this rule's Turo price −12%. |
One car, one morning run (illustrative)
| Day | Turo dynamic | Rule that owns it | New Turo price | What the preview says |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tue, 2 days out | $60 | 4: −15% | $51 | Change |
| Fri, 5 days out | $64 | 2: +20% | $77 | Change (estimated: Turo applies +20% to its live price) |
| Sat, 6 days out | $44 | 2: +20%, lowest $55 | $55 | Raised to the lowest price, sent as a fixed price |
| Wed, 10 days out | $58 | 4: −5% | $55 | Already right: nothing sent |
| Sat, Mar 14 | $71 | 1: fixed | $149 | Would move 110%: the run stops until you run it anyway |
| Mon, 17 days out | $57 | booked on Turo | – | Skipped |
The event day would move by more than the 50% stop limit, so this run would be stopped and nothing sent until you open it and choose Run anyway. A percent rule on many cars and days usually needs only a few Turo changes; the days raised to a lowest price go as fixed prices, one change each. Turo then keeps every price inside the car's own minimum and maximum.
Before, during and after a run
Before anything is sent
- Every rule starts off
- Saving a rule changes nothing. You turn it on when you've looked at the preview.
- Preview shows every car and day
- Turo's current price, its dynamic price, the new price and why, plus the days it would skip. Nothing goes to Turo from a preview.
- A stop limit
- If any day would move by more than your limit (50% unless you change it), the run stops, nothing is sent, and you're told in the app and by push. You can run it anyway from the history, once, when the change is what you meant.
While it runs
- Booked days are skipped
- A day Turo marks as booked or locked is never changed.
- Days you priced by hand are kept
- A price you set from DriveIt's calendar is left alone unless the rule says to overwrite it. A date you priced on turo.com looks like any custom price, so protect it with never-touch.
- Turo's own limits apply
- Turo keeps each car between its minimum and maximum; the preview shows where that happens.
Afterwards
- A record per car and day
- Each run lists what changed, what was already right, what was skipped and why, and whether Turo confirmed each change.
- A pause switch
- Pausing sends nothing, and cancels changes still waiting from the last run.
- A way back
- A rule set to "Back to Turo's dynamic price" hands the days back to Turo.
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't forecast demand. Turo's dynamic price does the market work. Rules sit on top of it, or replace it with a number you chose.
- It doesn't override Turo's own limits. Each car's minimum and maximum on Turo still apply, and booked or locked days are never changed.
- It doesn't recognise prices you set on turo.com. Only prices set from DriveIt's calendar count as hand-set. Protect a turo.com price with a never-touch date.
- It doesn't send unlimited changes. Rounding, a lowest price and a highest price send fixed prices per day. A run that needs more than 600 separate Turo changes stops and tells you to narrow it.
- It doesn't run late. If DriveIt wasn't running at a rule's time, the run is recorded as missed rather than sent hours later, and the rule runs at its next time.
- It doesn't promise a result. A rule does what it says. Whether a price is right for your market is your call, and the history lets you see what each run did.
What it needs from you
Invite DriveIt on Turo Teams
The co-host invitation is what lets DriveIt read each car's daily prices and send changes. Your cars pair by VIN.
Write a rule and preview it
Pick the cars, the days and the price. Preview lists every car and day with Turo's current price, its dynamic price and the new one. Nothing is sent.
Turn it on
It runs at the times you set, 06:00 by default, and the history shows what each run did per car and day. Pause it whenever you like.
Questions about automating Turo prices
Does Price Autopilot decide my prices?
No. It re-applies rules you wrote: a percent or amount on top of Turo's dynamic price, a fixed price for certain dates, tiers by days until the trip, a lowest price. If you haven't turned a rule on, nothing runs.
Why would my Turo prices need re-applying?
Turo re-prices your cars every day. A price you type on a date is a fixed number that stays while Turo's number moves, so "a little above Turo" stops being true after a few days. A rule re-applies it each morning.
Will it change a day that's already booked?
No. Days Turo marks as booked or locked are skipped, and the preview and the run both show them as skipped.
What stops a bad rule from wrecking my calendar?
Three things. New rules start off. Preview shows every car and day before anything is sent. And a run stops, with a notification, if any day would move by more than your limit, or if it would need more than 600 separate Turo changes.
Can it price a date in the past, or more than a year out?
No. Turo can't change days that have passed, and it takes prices up to 365 days ahead. Later dates are priced as they come within 365 days.
Does it know about the prices I set on turo.com?
It sees them as custom prices, the same as any other. Only prices set from DriveIt's calendar are recognised as hand-set. For a date you priced on turo.com, add it as a never-touch date in the rule.
How long does a run take?
A rule that adds a percent to Turo's price for many cars and days usually needs only a few changes. Fixed prices, a lowest or highest price and rounding each send fixed prices per day, and Turo accepts a limited number of changes a minute, so a large run can take up to an hour. The preview estimates it.
Can my team manage the rules?
No. Price Autopilot is the fleet owner's. Team logins can't see or change it.
