How to set up a direct booking website for your Turo cars with DriveIt

Updated November 3, 2026, 7 minute read

You already have the cars, the photos and the prices on Turo. A direct booking website should reuse all of that rather than make you start again. This is the order that gets a Turo host from no site to a first direct booking in DriveIt, with Turo still running the whole time.

Before you start: what you need on your side

DriveIt gives you the site, payments, checks and calendar. A few things only you can bring:

  • Insurance that covers renting cars to the public. Turo's protection only covers trips booked on Turo, so talk to a broker who works with rental operators first.
  • A Stripe account in your business's name, or a few minutes to create one.
  • Your rental agreement wording, ideally reviewed once by a local attorney.
  • A domain name if you have one. You can also buy one from your DriveIt dashboard.

1. Bring your Turo cars over

Create a host account, invite DriveIt's co-host on Turo Teams, and enter your VINs in List your car. Make, model, year, plate, prices, trip discounts and photos come over as drafts in about five minutes per car.

This is the same import the Turo tools use, so if you already run your Turo cars in DriveIt, this step is done. The setup guide covers the co-host invite and Gmail forwarding in detail.

2. Connect Stripe

Direct guests pay by card, and the money goes to your own Stripe account. Connect it from your dashboard before you publish. DriveIt takes no commission on bookings; Stripe's standard US card fee is 2.9% + 30¢.

3. Build the site

Pick a layout and add your logo and colors, or let the AI site builder draft the pages for you and edit from there. Your imported cars are already on it with their photos.

Write the parts guests read before they trust a small rental business: where pickup happens, what the deposit is, what's included in the price, and how to reach you.

4. Put it on your own domain

Connect a domain you already own, or buy one from your DriveIt dashboard. A site on your own name is what you print on cards, put on your Google Business Profile, and give to repeat guests.

5. Set direct prices that follow Turo

The easy start is to set each car's direct price as its Turo price plus or minus an amount or a percent. When the Turo price changes, the direct price follows.

If you already use price rules for Turo, a rule can also set the direct price. A direct price you set by hand is left alone. The pricing guide for direct rentals goes into how far under Turo to go.

6. Turn on checks, the agreement and the deposit

These are what make a direct trip safe to hand keys over for:

  • Driver's license and ID checks before pickup
  • The rental agreement, signed online at booking
  • A security deposit charged to the guest's card
  • Your fees for fuel, cleaning, smoking, pets and late return, shown before booking
  • Rental taxes for each pickup location, checked with your accountant. DriveIt suggests them; you turn them on.

7. Set buffers, publish, and test

Set a buffer between trips on each pickup location so a late Turo return can't collide with a direct pickup. Then publish.

From now on a Turo trip closes those dates on your site, and a direct booking blocks the car on Turo as soon as it's awaiting payment. DriveIt is the only direct booking platform that blocks in both directions. After your first direct booking, open the Turo logs page and check the block went through.

Questions

Do I have to stop using Turo to have a booking website?

No. Your Turo listings keep running. DriveIt blocks each side when the other is booked, so the same car can be on both.

Can I link my website in my Turo listing?

No. Turo's rules don't allow taking Turo guests or bookings off the platform. Share your site through your own channels: Google, social accounts, cards and local partners.

How much does the website cost?

Every DriveIt tool, including the booking site, is free for the rest of 2026. Guests pay through your Stripe account, so Stripe's card fee is the only fee per booking. A domain you buy has its own yearly price.

Where can I ask other hosts about setting this up?

In the DriveIt host group on Facebook, where hosts going direct share what worked for them.

This guide is general information, not legal, tax or insurance advice. Rules differ by state and city; check with a local attorney, accountant or insurance broker for your business.
